Global AI Media

A young newsroom, building toward a global wire.

Global AI Media is an independent news and video content agency in active development across London, Cape Town and Johannesburg — assembling a current-affairs desk and a historical footage archive with one big ambition: to earn a place among the sources that broadcasters and publishers already license from the international wires.

Thapelo Moloantoa

Founder, Global AI Media · London · Cape Town · Johannesburg

Thapelo Moloantoa was born and raised in Johannesburg, and built his career inside football and news media before founding Global AI Media. He started as an editor at SAsoccer365.co.za and contributed to FIFA.com during a World Cup draw, before becoming Web Editor and Communications Assistant for South Africa's Premier Soccer League, running digital content for the country's top-tier football competition.

In 2009 he founded FullCircle Sport Online, a digital consultancy that built and ran online and social platforms for clubs including Free State Stars, Polokwane City and Black Leopards, and for players such as Itumeleng Khune, Teko Modise and Siphiwe Tshabalala. The agency was acquired by TEAMtalk Media, part of the Ole! Media Group, in 2014.

He has since written on South African football, politics and digital transformation for City Press and News24, holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Cape Town — majoring in Politics, Industrial Sociology and International Relations — with exchange study at the University of British Columbia, and completed an AI-Driven Software Engineering certificate in 2025, the technical grounding behind Global AI Media's production pipeline.

Now building between London, Cape Town and Johannesburg, he leads Global AI Media's newsroom and its historical archive division. View his profile on LinkedIn →

The Deal

FullCircle Sport Online → TEAMtalk Media

In 2014, Thapelo's digital consultancy FullCircle Sport Online — built from 2009 serving Free State Stars, Polokwane City and Black Leopards, and stars including Itumeleng Khune, Teko Modise and Siphiwe Tshabalala, with a London arm serving South Africans playing in UK football — was acquired by TEAMtalk Media, part of the Ole! Media Group.

Tshabalala and Black Leopards chairman David Thidiela were among those who welcomed the merger at the time.

“Sport is a growing phenomenon not only in South Africa but across the continent. Sporting stars are our equivalent of Hollywood celebrities.”

Thapelo Moloantoa, Founder

“Grateful” for FullCircle's work, and welcomed TEAMtalk's recognition of the club's talent.

The Vision

Not built yet. Being built, deliberately.

Global AI Media is early — a young agency assembling its newsroom, its archive and its production pipeline in public. The ambition is not modest: to format, caption, rights-clear and deliver to the standard the broadcasters and digital publishers who already license from agencies like Reuters, AP and AFP expect — so that adding us as a source is, eventually, a straightforward decision. We're not there yet. We're building toward it, one dispatch and one restored reel at a time.
